Music at the Amp

Celebrate the rich musical legacy of the region at Jackson’s Award Winning music venue Jackson‘s Amphitheater at the Market (AMP). Located in the heart of Jackson behind the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market and within walking distance of the Jackson Walk, the AMP offers free performances all summer.


Jackson Symphony: Arabian Nights

Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church

Join the Jackson Symphony for its 58th Opening Night as the Orchestra recounts classic stories through music filled with romance and adventure. Prepare to embark on a dazzling, technicolor journey based on the classic folk tale "Arabian Nights" with Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular work Scheherazade. 


The Ned R. McWherter West TN Cultural Arts Center presents A. J. Croce

Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ned in Downtown Jackson

 A.J. Croce is a piano man first and a vocal stylist second. His muted growl pulls from a host of American traditions and anti-heroes – its part New Orleans, part juke joint, and part soul. A. J. Shakespeare in the Park

Sept. 27 (7:00 p.m.) & 28 (7:00 p.m.), 30 (2:00 p.m.) at the Amp in Downtown Jackson

The Jackson-Madison County Library will present the Forked Deer Shakespeare Project’s production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. This production will be the library’s second Shakespeare in the Park production and will involve actors from throughout the area, as well as a team of volunteers. This event will be free and open to the public.

In this Jackson Theatre Guild production of a hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, two down on their luck actors learn that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost nephews, so they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces! Romantic entanglements and chaos abound!


Jackson Symphony: Starlight Symphony

Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church

Experience a Jackson tradition with a night under the stars as the Jackson Symphony Orchestra performs classical favorites, film music, pops and so much more. Pack a picnic to enjoy with family and friends under the stars and be prepared for Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture featuring live cannons! This free gift to the community is not to be missed.

TN Rhythm Run

Saturday, Sept. 29 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the LIFT in Downtown Jackson
The scenic course is a championship style loop that will take runners through historic downtown Jackson. Options include a half-marathon, 5K, and one-mile Miracle Mile run/walk. Race day check-in begins at 6 a.m.


Bone Bash 5K

Saturday, October 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Union University

Be part of the inaugural Jackson Bone Bash 5k and join the movement to conquer arthritis! The Arthritis Foundation’s Bone Bash 5k is a fun way to get out, get moving and raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability. Wear glow sticks. Show off a Halloween Costume. Complete a 5-kilometer run or walk with your team members, spreading smiles, good cheer and a winning spirit.


Take Your Girls Out 5K

Thursday, October 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Woman’s Clinic

Join The Woman’s Clinic for the 9th Annual Take Your Girls Night Out 5K/1 mile fun run or walk. All proceeds benefit the Take Your Girls Night Out fund to provide financial relief for West TN women battling breast cancer.



West Tennessee State Fair

Sept. 11-16 at the Jackson Fairgrounds

Enjoy rides, shows, pageants and fair food at the annual West Tennessee State Fair.



September 15-17 at Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park

This free annual festival is a celebration of Native American culture and archaeology with craft demonstrations and storytelling sessions. Saturday the event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday hours will be for school age children only.


Children’s Business Expo

Saturday, September 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at the Jackson Fairgrounds

The Al Chymia Shrine Circus has been delighting Mid-South audiences for 75 years. Various showtimes are available.


Jackson-Madison County Trunk or Treat

Saturday, October 27 at 5:00 p.m.

The City of Jackson and Madison County are hosting the 11th annual free trunk or treat event at the Ballpark at Jackson. Visitors will be able to safely "trunk or treat" their way through over 85 government and privately-owned business vehicles, leaving with a bag full of candy.

Library’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrate the Jackson-Madison County Library’s birthday. Festivities begin with a rededication ceremony at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Local Author Showcase from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and a Library Birthday Party for children featuring ventriloquist Crystal Birdwell at 3:00 p.m.

The American Cancer Society’s 24th annual Runway for A Cure is a local favorite! Great food, a spectacular auction and special appearances by Jackson’s leading Real Men Wear Pink make this a premier event. This year’s Hope for Heels fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with food, drink and silent auction bidding, followed by an amazing runway fashion show to begin at 7:00 p.m. 


Dancing With the STARS

Thursday, October 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Jackson Fairgrounds

Join the STAR Center for an evening of dinner, drinks and dancing. Watch as local celebrities and community leaders compete to win the coveted mirror ball trophy. Proceeds of this event go to help the Star Center fulfill their mission of helping any person, with any disability, realize their potential.


Jackson Brew Fest

Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jackson Fairgrounds

The 10th Annual Jackson Brew Fest gives attendees the chance to enjoy dozens of unlimited samples of the finest craft beers from around the world and right here in West Tennessee! Shop local vendors, enjoy delicious food, play games and enjoy afternoon entertainment. Attendees must be 21 and up.
