The Peggy Graves Team helped East Middle School celebrate the kick-off of the Read Across America Campaign and the birthday of the late Dr. Suess.
The program began with a parade featuring all types of crazy hats. Most of the young people in the parade designed and made their hats. It was quite a show. We marched around the gym with characters such as Red Robin, the Chick-fil-a Cow, and Ribbee from the West Tn DiamondJaxx Team.
The school graciously fed us snacks and then we went in to some of the classrooms to read. There were many selections to read from including all the wonderful books from Dr. Seuss. What a great time we had! We got the chance to speak with some of the students who told us great stories including the fact that they had green eggs and ham for breakfast.
If you're not a reader, there's still time. Go to the library or pick up a book at your local bookstore and start today! There's an adventure waiting.
